Shofar & Tashlich in the Park

  • Join us for Shofar & Tashlich in the Park on the first day of Rosh Hashanah, Tuesday, September 23 at 5:30 pm, when we blow the Shofar (if you missed it in the morning), and recite the Tashlich prayer and hear short words of inspiration at Ponce Circle Park, 2800 Ponce de Leon Blvd, Coral Gables.

Family friendly program with Shofar blowing, holiday songs and activities.

Rosh Hashanah Prize for all children in attendance with your RSVP!

Shofar & Tashlich in the Park will take place rain or shine. In the event of rain, there's a covered area nearby.

On the first day of Rosh Hashanah after the afternoon prayer, there is a custom to go to a a body of water (preferably a body of water that has fish), and recite the Tashlich prayers, wherein we symbolically cast our sins into the water and leave our old shortcomings behind us, thus starting the new year with a clean slate. As fish depend upon water, so do we depend upon G‑d's providence.
