On Shabbat morning, following the reading of the haftorah, we say a 'mi shebeirach' for those who give of their time and resources for the benefit of the community.
In particular, we praise those "who bring candles for light, wine for Kiddush and Havdalah, and food for guests and charity for the poor. And all those who faithfully occupy themselves with the needs of the community."
We recognize that what defines a true community is our care for each other: individually, and as a community.
We can all help, by giving of our time and resources.
